General instructions:

By the Law on the Central Register of Beneficial Owners (“Official Gazette of RS”, no. 41/18 and 91/2019), dated 31. December 2018 In 2008, the Central Register of Beneficial Owners was established as a public, unique, central, electronic database of natural persons – beneficial owners of legal entities and other entities registered in the Republic of Serbia.

There is an obligation to register:

• newly established business entity, no later than 15 days from the day of registration,

• a registered business entity, no later than 15 days from the day of the change in the ownership structure or members of the bodies of the registered entity.

In order to register the real owners, the applicant must have:

• account on the system for centralized registration of users of the Agency for Business Registers ,

• qualified electronic certificate (electronic signature) issued by the certification body in the Republic of Serbia, installed electronic card reader and

• installed NEXU electronic signature application .

In the system for centralized registration of users, the applicant selects the Register of Beneficial Owners and starts entering data.

The Ministry of Economy has prepared a Guide for recording the real owner of a registered entity in the Central Registry , as an aid to registered entities in the implementation of legal obligations.
